Geocentrism/Flat Earth Part 1: What The Bible Says…

Most of us learned astronomy in the 7th and 8th grades in Junior High School.  But, why then?  When I look back, I now know the answer to that question.  Think about it, we were told a bunch of huge numbers with regard to the rotation of the earth and distance to the sun and the moon; that we weren’t alone in the universe and that we were just one of many universes.   At that time, you, like me, probably just memorized that information in order to pass the tests and go on to the next thing, without giving the subject a second thought.

Until now.  Now, I’m in my fifties and by the grace of YAHWEH, I can still think critically.  So, if we are in a moving car with the windows open and the wind blows through our hair and the car, both move automatically.  But, IF we are standing still, and a wind of thousands of miles per hour due to the rotation of the earth doesn’t knock us over and sends us across the world, then why?  Really?  That’s why we were indoctrinated at such a young age, so that we wouldn’t even question the narrative, let alone what we were taught.

However, as a Christian, I want you to keep an open mind and think about this:  The Genesis narrative, as well as many of the other books of the Bible, state that the earth is established and unmovable, and that YAHWEH established a Geocentric Universe which makes us special!  All of this is the opposite of the Jesuit Counter-Reformation Heliocentric Universe theory, in which the sun is the center of the universe, and that we are not special in any way, shape, or form.

So, which one is true:  YAHWEH’S Geocentric Universe OR the Jesuit Counter-Reformation Heliocentric Universe?

But, before we start, please remember what Proverbs 18:13 says:  He who answereth a matter before he heareth it, exposeth his folly and incurreth contempt.

According to Charles Johnson, The whole point of the Copernican theory is to get rid of Jesus by saying that there is no up and no down, the spinning ball thing just makes the whole Bible a big joke.  Well, let us find out what the Bible has to say about this subject…

I will be using the Greek Old and New Testament Bible, an Aramaic Bible, a Hebrew Bible, and two English Bibles.  All of the Scriptures are taken from Charles Thomson’s The Greek Septuagint Bible of the Old Testament (CTS)[1], Charles Thomson’s New Testament Translated from the Greek (CTNT)[2], The Holy Bible from the Ancient Eastern Text – George Lamsa’s Translation from the Aramaic of the Peshitta (ARAMAIC)[3], The Cepher, which is a Hebrew Bible (CEPHER)[4], The King James Version (KJV)[5], and The New American Standard Version (NASB)[6], and the Scriptures below are arranged by topics, with the Book of Job being placed before Genesis, as most scholars believe it to be the oldest book of the Bible.  This is by no means an exhaustive list of Scripture.

SCRIPTURES CONCERNING THE NATURE OF THE HEAVENS/SKY ABOVE AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO THE EARTH

Job 9:6-10 (CTS):  Who shaketh the earth to its foundations, so that the pillars thereof totter – Who commandeth the sun and it riseth not; and Who sealth up against the stars – Who alone hath outspread the heaven; and Who walketh on the sea as on a pavement – Who is the maker of the Pleiades and Hesperus, and of Arcturus and the chambers of the south – Who doth things great and unsearchable; things glorious and wonderful not to be numbered?

Job 9:6-10 (ARAMAIC):  He shakes the earth out of its foundations, and its inhabitants tremble.  He commands the sun, and it does not rise; and seals up the stars.  He alone stretched out the heavens, and treads upon the mighty waves of the sea.  He made the Pleiades, Aldebaran, and Orion, and the chambers of the south.  He has done great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

Job 9:6-10 (CEPHER):  Which shakes the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.  Which commands the sun, and it rises not; and seals up the stars.  Which alone spreads out the heavens, and treads upon the waves of the sea.  Which makes Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.  Which does great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

Job 9:6-10 (KJV):  Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.  Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth no; and sealeth up the stars.  Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.  Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.  Which doeth great things past finding out: yea, and wonders without number.

Job 9:6-10 (NASB):  Who shakes the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble; Who commands the sun not to shine, and sets a seal upon the stars; Who alone stretches out the heavens and tramples down the waves of the sea: Who makes the Bear, Orion and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south; Who does great things, unfathomable, and wondrous works without number.

Job 22:14 (CTS):  A cloud is His covering, so that He cannot be seen, though He traverses the circuit of heaven.

Job 22:14 (ARAMAIC):  Thick clouds are a covering to Him, so that men cannot see Him; and He walks upon the circle of the heaven.

Job 22:14 (CEPHER):  Thick clouds are a covering to Him, that He sees not; and He walks in the circuit of heaven.

Job 22:14 (KJV):  Thick clouds are a covering to Him, that He seeth not; and He walketh in the circuit of heaven.

Job 22:14 (NASB):  Clouds are a hiding place for Him, so that He cannot see; and He walks on the vault of heaven.

Job 26:7-13 (CTS):  He it is, Who stretcheth out Boreas [the North Wind] over empty space – Who suspendeth the earth upon nothing – Who bindeth up water in His clouds, and the cloud under it is not rent – Whotaketh possession of the front of His throne and over it spreadeth His cloud.  His decree had drawn a circle on the face of the water, at the confines of light and darkness.  The pillars of heaven flutter and are struck with consternation at His rebuke.  By power He calmed the sea; and by wisdom the sea-monster was overthrown.  The bars of heaven were terrified at Him; and by a decree He doomed to death the apostate dragon.

Job 26:7-13 (ARAMAIC):  He stretches out the north from the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing.  He binds up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.  He holds fast the covering of the firmament, and spreads His cloud upon it.  He has circled the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.  The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at His reproof.  He rebukes the sea with His power, and by His wisdom He saves many.  By His spirit He manages the heavens; His hand slew the fleeing serpent.

Job 26:7-13 (CEPHER):  He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing.  He binds up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.  He holds back the face of His throne and spreads His cloud upon it.  He has compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.  The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at His reproof.  He divides the sea with His power, and by His understanding He smites through the proud.  By His Ruach He has garnished the heavens; His hand has formed the crooked serpent.

Job 26:7-13 (KJV):  He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.  He bindeth up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.  He holdeth back the face of His throne, and spreadeth His cloud upon it.  He hath compassed the waters with sounds, until the day and night come to an end.  The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at His reproof.  He divideth the sea with His power, and by His understanding He smiteth through the proud.  By His spirit He hath garnished the heavens; His hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

Job 26:7-13 (NASB):  He stretches out the north over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing.  He wraps up the waters in His clouds, and the cloud does not burst under them.  He obscures the face of the full moon and spreads His cloud over it.  He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters at the boundary of light and darkness.  The pillars of heaven tremble and are amazed at His rebuke.  He quieted the sea with His power, and by His understanding He shattered Rahab.  By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.

Genesis 1:1-8 (KJV):  IN the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.  And God  saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.  And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.  And the evening and the morning were the first day.  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.  And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.  And God called the firmament Heaven.  And the evening the morning were the second day.
